Applicants must have earned an associate's degree from an accredited respiratory therapy program, or completed a bachelors degree program, and pass an exam. Phlebotomists draw blood for tests, transfusions, research, or blood donations. Phlebotomy programs are available from community colleges, vocational schools, or technical schools.
